It’s Time to Start Working on Your Business Plan For 2011

It’s Time to Start Working on Your Business Plan For 2011

Yes, it is true, 2011 is right around the corner. Now is a great time to get started working on your business plan. I know many of the Realtors I work with are just starting to see how important the internet is to their business. Anyhow, I read these two articles over the weekend and thought they were a good place to start. Social media and the internet should be a part of everyone’s business plan. My advice, make it a part of your plan, not all consuming!

I would also suggest you get your referral partners involved. I am always looking for ways to help my Realtor partners with their internet presence. It does not have to be overwhelming!

New Jersey Top High Schools

Millburn Top New Jersey High School Again

Every two years New Jersey Monthly Magazine devotes an issue to the top High Schools in NJ. It is a great honor to make the top of the list and for Millburn to be number 1 for the second time in as many lists it is an incredible accomplishment. There are some excellent High Schools in New Jersey, one of the many great reasons to live in this state. Whether you agree with the list or not, for people buying or selling this list is an important tool. It’s all about perception and people perceive the towns that make this list to be the most desirable towns to live in. Thus the list can only help property values! This is a great honor for Millburn and all the other towns that made the list.

New Law to Speed up The Short Sale Process

Realtors stressed over dealing with lenders on short sales, as well as distressed homeowners looking for a way out of their mortgage that doesn’t involve foreclosure, may find relief is on the way from a new bill introduced in the U.S. House. The new legislation would impose a deadline on lenders to respond to short sale requests, requiring them to return an answer to the borrower within 45 days. I’ve heard that, as well as seen, a couple potential homebuyers walk away from purchasing short sale property because the lender has taken many months without any response.

The idea behind the bill is a good one. Let’s hope that it does not force lenders to deny a larger percentage of short sales just because they are backed up and do not have the workforce to handle the load.

If you want to keep an eye on this bill here’s more info; Prompt Decision for Qualification of Short Sale Act of 2010 (H.R. 6133), is sponsored by Reps. Robert Andrews (D-New Jersey) and Tom Rooney (R-Florida).
